California Michelin Guide Welcomes 6 Exciting New Restaurants in Los Angeles
Six Los Angeles Restaurants Earn Spots in California Michelin Guide
Michelin recently unveiled its latest additions to the California Michelin Guide, recognizing twelve new restaurants statewide. Among these, six standout establishments from Los Angeles have garnered acclaim for their culinary excellence.
In a statement on their website, the Michelin Guide emphasized the extensive efforts of inspectors, noting, “Michelin Guide inspectors spend the entire year on the road seeking out the best restaurants to recommend — and what they’ve found is too good to keep a secret.”
Here are the six Los Angeles restaurants that impressed inspectors:
Corridor 109
Nestled behind a door at Bar 109 on North Western Avenue in Melrose Hill, this intimate space features an 11-seat counter. Corridor 109 offers a menu centered on authentic Japanese raw fish.
Firstborn
Located in Chinatown, Firstborn debuted in March on North Broadway. Chef Anthony Wang’s prix fixe menu is priced at $68 and includes four carefully crafted courses. The Michelin Guide praises the restaurant’s “welcoming and comfortable” ambiance, along with its “well-organized kitchen.”
Lapaba
This newly opened pasta bar on South Western Avenue in Koreatown combines Italian cuisine with a Korean twist. Dishes include Bulgogi meatballs in truffle tomato sauce served with milk bread, showcasing innovative flavor combinations.
Little Fish Melrose Hill
Expanding from a previous location in Echo Park, Little Fish opened on Melrose Avenue in December. With chefs Anna Sonenshein and Niki Vahle at the helm, the restaurant emphasizes sustainably sourced seafood and California produce, featuring popular dishes like fried fish sandwiches and Dungeness crab.
Lugya’h by Poncho’s Tlayudas
Situated inside LA’s Maydan Market on West Jefferson Boulevard, this casual eatery specializes in Oaxacan cuisine, with a menu that highlights traditional dishes prepared by Chef Alfonso Martinez, notably his signature tlayudas.
Zira Uzbek Kitchen
Opened in November in the Fairfax District, Zira Uzbek Kitchen focuses on authentic flavors from Uzbekistan. Owner Azim Rahmatov’s restaurant is noted for its engaging atmosphere, complete with tile floors and wood furnishings adorned with ikat fabrics.
These six Los Angeles restaurants represent a significant addition to the California Michelin Guide, which also includes six new entries from Menlo Park, Montecito, and San Francisco.
