Exciting First Look at Zendaya, Jon Bernthal as Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner in Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer
The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially been released, with the film set to hit theaters on July 31.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, this eagerly awaited fourth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) Spider-Man series completed filming late last year.
The film’s synopsis reveals that “Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.”
The trailer further emphasizes, “Sometimes Spider-Man has to do the hard thing, even if it breaks Peter Parker’s heart.”
Returning to the franchise, Tom Holland takes on the role of Spider-Man, while Zendaya reprises her character as MJ. Sadie Sink joins the cast in an undisclosed role, with John Bernthal returning as Punisher and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner. The film also features Jacob Batalon, Tramell Tillman, and Michael Mando.
Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, produces alongside Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige.
Filming began in Scotland last August; however, production faced a brief halt when Holland was treated for a mild concussion due to a stunt incident. While he received medical attention, he was not hospitalized.
Spider-Man: No Way Home, released in 2021, earned $1.9 billion globally, with $814 million coming from the domestic box office.
