Irvine Elementary School Employee Accused of Inappropriate Behavior with Students
Investigation Underway Into Alleged Misconduct at Irvine Elementary School
IRVINE—The Irvine Police Department is actively investigating a reported incident involving a staff member at Hicks Canyon Elementary School who allegedly asked two third-grade girls for back massages.
The inquiry was initiated last Thursday following reports from parents who learned that their 9-year-old daughters were repeatedly approached by the male staff member regarding the massages. Concerns prompted parents to contact both the school and local authorities.
The Tustin Unified School District, which oversees Hicks Canyon Elementary located on Viewpark Avenue, confirmed its collaboration with police in the ongoing investigation. Both law enforcement and district officials have refrained from disclosing specific details about the incident.
A Reddit user, claiming to be a parent of one of the involved girls, reported that the staff member was placed on paid leave for a short period following the allegations but has since returned to campus. The same parent noted that the school is arranging for the staff member to work with a different group of children to prevent further encounters with her daughter.
The exact role and responsibilities of the staff member within the school remain unclear at this time. In response to the growing uproar on social media, the Irvine Police Department announced its commitment to thoroughly investigate the matter and is working closely with the Tustin Unified School District to ascertain the facts.
