Agoura Road to Close Today for Wildlife Crossing Improvements
Agoura Road to Close for Wildlife Crossing Construction
Agoura Road in Agoura Hills will be fully closed on Wednesday as work progresses on the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing project. The closure is planned from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Rondell Street and Hydepark Drive, as reported by Caltrans.
According to a statement from Caltrans, the temporary closure is necessary for crews to safely perform concrete placement as part of the ongoing construction.
A second planned closure on Thursday has been canceled. During the closure, no through traffic will be allowed, affecting motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. Officials have advised drivers to anticipate delays and consider alternate local routes.
To assist pedestrians and cyclists navigating around the closed section of Agoura Road, a free shuttle service will operate every 30 minutes during the closure hours.
The Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing aims to facilitate safe passage for mountain lions and other wildlife across the 101 Freeway, connecting the Santa Monica Mountains with the Simi Hills.
