LeBron James is sitting out tonight’s game against Minnesota
LeBron James Declared Out for Lakers’ Game Against Timberwolves
LeBron James has been ruled out for the Los Angeles Lakers’ upcoming game against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to a right hip contusion and ongoing left foot arthritis. This marks the third consecutive game he has missed as a result of his injuries.
James initially sat out earlier games against the Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks, suffering from a left elbow contusion and the same left foot condition. His latest setback occurred during the fourth quarter of last Thursday’s match against the Denver Nuggets, where he fell hard after being clipped by Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets’ center, while attempting to score.
Lakers coach JJ Redick commented on James’s situation, noting the player was engaged in on-court shooting before the team’s film session and walk-through. “He probably just needs a couple more days,” Redick said. “So, it’s still day-to-day. Sometimes day-to-day means two days; sometimes it can mean five or six days. But he’s day-to-day.”
Redick was also queried about the potential benefits of James taking time off for body maintenance during his unprecedented 23rd season. “Yeah, we obviously want him in the lineup,” he said. “When we were kind of approaching this stretch and you see the six days of games in eight nights—we had two back-to-backs last week—you never know how his body is going to respond to a game. So, it’s not to say I expected him to miss a game. It’s just it wouldn’t have surprised me if he needed a day or two to get his body right.”
Redick expressed optimism for James’s return, highlighting both the player’s desire to compete and the team’s need for his presence on the court.
