Police Arrest ‘Peeping Tom’ Suspected of Targeting UC Riverside Students
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Riverside police have arrested 49-year-old Roberto Clemente Rincon on charges related to multiple incidents of peeping and stalking, primarily targeting young female students from the University of California, Riverside (UCR).
The investigation into Rincon began on February 2, 2023, following several reports and the acquisition of incriminating video evidence. Authorities traced his alleged activities to November 2025, indicating a pattern of behavior that involves approaching homes in the residential area near Watkins Avenue and the 215 Freeway during the night.
"Rincon would park his vehicle and look through the windows of homes," a police spokesperson noted. "The victims, in both cases documented, are young women attending UCR." Once identified through the video footage, Rincon was arrested and subsequently booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center. He has since been released on bail.
Authorities have expressed concern that additional victims may have been targeted but have not come forward. While Rincon faces charges related to prowling and peeping, the full scope of his intentions remains under investigation.
Following his release, Rincon is expected to appear in court for the pending charges. Meanwhile, police continue to review any new video evidence submitted by the public that may connect Rincon to other similar incidents in the area.
The Riverside Police Department is urging residents, particularly those in the Watkins Avenue vicinity, to enhance their home security measures and remain vigilant. Community members who recognize Rincon or have witnessed similar suspicious behavior are encouraged to report their observations to authorities.
