Rams Reach 3-Year Contract Agreement with Kam Curl Worth Around $24 Million Guaranteed
Rams Extend Contract with Safety Kam Curl
In a significant move for their defensive squad, the Los Angeles Rams have secured safety Kam Curl with a three-year contract extension, sources familiar with the negotiations confirm. Although the team has yet to announce the deal, insiders reveal it includes approximately $24 million in guaranteed money.
The 26-year-old Curl has emerged as one of the Rams’ standout defensive players. Last season, he recorded 122 tackles, intercepted two passes, and added two sacks while forcing a fumble. Notably, during the NFC Divisional Round, he made a decisive overtime interception against the Chicago Bears, which set up the pivotal winning field goal.
This extension marks the Rams’ third key move to bolster their secondary since the beginning of the year. On January 1, they signed safety Quentin Lake to a three-year extension worth $25.5 million in guarantees. Additionally, the Rams are finalizing a major trade to acquire Kansas City cornerback Trent McDuffie, a 2023 All-Pro.
The franchise has also made strides in retaining other key players. Recently, they agreed to terms with veteran tight end Tyler Higbee on a two-year deal, while offensive tackle David Quessenberry was re-signed last month.
As the free-agent negotiation period approaches, several members of the Rams, including quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and cornerbacks Cobie Durant and Roger McCreary, are in line to become free agents. That period is set to begin on Monday at 9 a.m. PDT.
