Hudson Williams Makes a Special Appearance on Connor Storrie’s First Night at SNL
As rumors of Hudson Williams’ potential cameo on Saturday Night Live circulated leading up to his co-star Connor Storrie’s debut hosting gig, the Canadian actor made a memorable entrance onto Studio 8H ice during a skit.
In a comedic moment, Williams collided with Storrie, along with SNL stars Mikey Day and Ben Marshall. The quartet portrayed carefree friends ice skating at Rockefeller Center, inadvertently interrupting a disastrous marriage proposal between characters played by Veronika Slowikowska and Tommy Brennan.
“I feel so free,” Day remarked amidst enthusiastic audience cheers, adding, “I feel like Alisa Liu right now.” Williams’ arrival elicited louder cheers as he zipped onto the ice, while Slowikowska and Brennan struggled to conceal smiles amid the applause.
Throughout the sketch, Slowikowska’s character attempted to redirect the attention of her distracted fiancé to their crumbling relationship. Williams, meanwhile, engaged in a conga line with the others, declaring, “I’ve never felt so cool.”
Brennan questioned this assertion, incredulously asking, “How is that possible?” Slowikowska’s Candace responded, “I don’t know, it’s just how I feel,” leading to further comedic banter about the absurdity of ice skating in a train formation.
At one point, Storrie’s character was humorously revealed to be a producer for Kendrick Lamar, prompting Brennan to express disbelief regarding any connection to the Grammy-winning artist. As Slowikowska tried once again to discuss their relationship, Brennan dismissed her, proclaiming, “OK, sounds good. I’m gonna hang with these guys. I have to figure out their secret.”
Later in the show, Williams joined Storrie to introduce musical guest Mumford & Sons, who surprised the audience with a special appearance by Hozier for a rendition of “Rubber Band Man.”
Williams remained a part of the festivities, making an appearance during the goodnights segment, marking a successful blend of guest stars on the iconic stage.
