Legendary Singer-Songwriter Neil Sedaka Passes Away at 86
Neil Sedaka, the renowned singer-songwriter, has died at the age of 86, as confirmed by his family to NBC4 Investigates on Friday.
In a statement to NBC Los Angeles, the family expressed their grief: “Our family is devastated by the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Neil Sedaka. A true rock and roll legend, an inspiration to millions, but most importantly, at least to those of us who were lucky enough to know him, an incredible human being who will be deeply missed.”
Sedaka’s illustrious career spanned over six decades, producing iconic hits including "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do," "Calendar Girl," and "Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen." He was also known as the original performer of "Love Will Keep Us Together," a song that later achieved worldwide success with Captain & Tennile.
