Charter Appoints Nick Jeffery, Former CEO of Frontier and Vodafone UK, as COO
Charter Communications has appointed Nick Jeffery as chief operating officer, tasked with leading marketing, sales, and customer operations across the spectrum of residential, business, and entertainment services. His tenure begins on September 1 at the company’s headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, reporting directly to CEO Chris Winfrey.
Jeffery comes to Charter from Frontier Communications, where he served as president and CEO since 2021. During his tenure, he spearheaded a successful transformation that shifted the company from bankruptcy to revenue growth. He previously held the position of chief executive at Vodafone UK starting in 2016, where he oversaw a significant turnaround.
Charter, which operates in 41 states, recently announced a landmark $34.5 billion merger with Cox Communications. This deal is currently undergoing regulatory scrutiny. Winfrey is poised to lead the newly combined entity, which will serve 38 million subscribers across broadband, video, and mobile platforms.
“Nick’s leadership, growth mindset, and operational expertise combined with his proven ability to improve customer service across residential, mobile, and B2B markets make him the ideal person to help accelerate Spectrum’s next phase of growth,” Winfrey stated.
In response, Jeffery remarked, “I am honored to join a connectivity leader at such an exciting moment in its evolution.”
