Marshall Lewy Becomes Head of Content for North America at Audible After Wondery Integration
Amazon-owned podcast and audiobook provider Audible has announced the appointment of Marshall Lewy, a former executive at Wondery, as the new head of content for North America.
Lewy will be responsible for overseeing Audible’s slate of original content and will report directly to Chief Content Officer Rachel Ghiazza.
This appointment follows a significant reorganization of Audible’s audio operations last August, during which Wondery CEO Jen Sargent departed, leading to approximately 100 layoffs. Despite the changes, Wondery, acquired by Amazon in 2021, remains focused on celebrity-driven podcasts, including popular shows like Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert and Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights.
As Chief Content Officer at Wondery, Lewy managed several successful podcasts, many of which transitioned to TV, streaming, and film adaptations. His notable projects include Hysterical, Dr. Death, Business Wars, and Baby, This Is Keke Palmer. He holds executive producer credits on seven television series, including Dr. Death (Peacock), The Shrink Next Door (Apple TV), and WeCrashed (Apple TV), and received an Emmy nomination for FX’s Dying for Sex.

Before joining Wondery in 2018, Lewy was a partner at Adaptive Studios, which supported the revival of Project Greenlight on HBO. His work on the series earned him an Emmy nomination, and he also produced the Netflix film Coin Heist. An accomplished independent filmmaker, Lewy has written and directed the features Blue State and California Solo, the latter premiering at Sundance.
In his new position, Lewy will lead the creative development and production of Audible’s audio dramas, exclusive audiobooks, podcasts, and investigative series. He will also direct initiatives such as Audible Theater and the company’s film and television production activities. Audible reports it has numerous audio-first projects currently in development across various networks, studios, and streaming platforms.
“Marshall’s appointment represents a tremendous opportunity for Audible’s North American content ambitions,” Ghiazza stated. “His background as both a creator and executive, combined with his extensive network of industry contacts and proven track record of developing wildly popular shows, makes him uniquely positioned to lead our content strategy forward. Marshall is known throughout the industry as an outstanding leader who consistently delivers breakthrough entertainment that resonates with audiences on a massive scale.”
