Castaic Incident: Stepson Taken Into Custody After 62-Year-Old Man’s Death
19-Year-Old Arrested for Murder in Castaic Stabbing Incident
Authorities have arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of his stepfather in Castaic. The victim, identified as 62-year-old Bruce Whitney, was discovered on Saturday afternoon.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) responded around 1:35 p.m. to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 32000 block of Ridge Top Lane. Upon arrival, they found Whitney lying on the living room floor, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite immediate first aid efforts by deputies, Whitney was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter.
Whitney’s stepson, Terrance Crawford, has been named as the primary suspect. He was booked at the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station on suspicion of murder.
