Bathroom Delivery Will Lead to Temporary Closure of Runyon Canyon Entrance
Fuller Avenue Entrance to Runyon Canyon Temporarily Closed for Restroom Installation
The Fuller Avenue entrance to Runyon Canyon will be closed to the public on Thursday, February 12, from 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. This closure is part of the installation of a new permanent restroom at the park.
The Hollywood United Neighborhood Council announced that visitors should be aware of “No Parking” signs along Fuller and Hillside avenues during this time and comply with the posted restrictions.
Visitors to Runyon Canyon are encouraged to utilize alternative entrances, such as the Vista and Mulholland entrances, to access the park’s popular hiking trails while the closure is in effect.
The restroom project, which has been in development since 2024, involves the use of a crane to deliver the prefabricated facility at the Fuller Avenue site. Previously, the park, which draws millions of visitors each year, has only provided Porta-Potties for restroom needs.
The city is investing nearly $1 million in the restroom project. While some community members see the new restroom as a beneficial addition, others have expressed concerns that permanent facilities could attract crime.
