Bruno Mars Announces Exciting Role as the 2026 Record Store Day Ambassador
Bruno Mars Set to Ambassadorship for 2026 Record Store Day
Bruno Mars is preparing for a significant global presence in 2026 with a new album and world tour. He will serve as the ambassador for Record Store Day, scheduled for April 18, coinciding with the release of his upcoming album The Romantic, set to debut on February 27 through Atlantic Records.
Announced on January 30, Mars joins a prestigious group of past Record Store Day ambassadors, which includes notable artists like Taylor Swift, Post Malone, and Metallica. “You get the chance to immerse yourself, surround yourself with music,” Mars commented. “I love being able to physically be surrounded by music. Not just staring at your phone and downloading something, but to actually see all of this beautiful art around you. It inspires me.”
As part of his ambassadorship, Mars will collaborate with over 200 record stores across the United States to host listening parties on February 25, allowing fans to hear The Romantic ahead of its official release. The album’s lead single, “I Just Might,” has already topped the Billboard Hot 100 for two consecutive weeks, marking his tenth chart-topping single.
In addition to his role as ambassador, Mars will contribute to the list of special Record Store Day releases with The Collaborations, a compilation of his popular tracks featuring artists such as Mark Ronson and Lady Gaga. This new release will be available at participating stores on April 18, shortly after Mars kicks off his Romantic Tour at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
The complete list of special releases for 2026 Record Store Day will be announced in the upcoming weeks. Additionally, Mars is set to perform at the 2026 Grammy ceremony on February 1, where he is nominated for record of the year, song of the year, and best pop duo/group performance for his collaboration with BLACKPINK’s ROSÉ on “APT.” Last year, he received his 16th Grammy for his duet with Lady Gaga on “Die With a Smile.”
Mars will begin his tenure as Record Store Day ambassador with a visit to Moondog Records in Las Vegas. Below is a glimpse of that event:
