Ginger Alden, the former fiancée of Elvis Presley, recently shared heartfelt memories of her relationship with the iconic singer. On January 26, 2026, Alden posted on Facebook to commemorate a significant milestone—49 years since their engagement.
“This was a special day 49 years ago for Elvis and myself becoming engaged,” Alden, 69, wrote. “I will always hold dear his sincere and beautiful words to me then and near the end, his confiding in me and our love for one another.” She continued by expressing gratitude, saying, “Thank you Elvis, you filled my life with many wonderful memories.”
The post included rare photographs, one featuring Alden in a fur coat alongside Presley, and another showcasing her engagement ring set against green velvet. Alden, a former model and actress, was just two months into her relationship with Elvis when he proposed.
Following Presley’s death, Alden experienced a tumultuous relationship with his family. Her mother, Jo Laverne Alden, notably sued the Presley estate, claiming that Elvis had promised to pay off her mortgage. Furthermore, Alden was reportedly banned from Graceland, with Elvis’ uncle, Vester, stating, “Ginger Alden is dead now as far as the family is concerned.”
Alden later recounted their relationship in her 2014 memoir, *Elvis and Ginger: Elvis Presley’s Fiancée and Last Love Finally Tells Her Story*.
In January 2023, Alden paid her respects to Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis’ daughter, who passed away on January 12, 2023. Reflecting on her time with Lisa Marie, Alden remarked, “It’s not always easy knowing all/what to say in moments sometimes but here goes.” She recalled their connection, saying, “My time with Lisa Marie was unique for me and special.” Alden noted, “We didn’t have years together but it was quality time spent for sure when she visited Elvis and me at Graceland as a young child in 77 and was able to join us on some tours and visit with me at my family home.”
Finally, Alden fondly remembered their simple joys, stating, “I will always remember riding in the golf cart with Lisa at her father’s home, something she loved so very much and taking her to good ‘ole’ McDonald’s for a burger.” She added that they enjoyed visiting Libertyland together, creating cherished memories.
