Sadie Stanley Joins Netflix’s Upcoming Drama Series Poser
Sadie Stanley, known for her roles in Karate Kid: Legends and Cruel Summer, has been cast as a series regular in Netflix’s forthcoming drama series, Poser. She joins previously announced cast members Daisy Jelley and Annie Murphy.
Created by Lauren Iungerich, Poser delves into themes of toxic female friendship through a thrilling narrative. The story follows two estranged former best friends. When one receives an opportunity to attain the life she has always desired, she uncovers the reasons behind their past fallout. This leads her into a psychological web involving revenge, betrayal, and heartbreak, ultimately impacting their lives and the lives of those around them.
Iungerich will take on the roles of writer and showrunner for Poser, a project developed under her overall deal with Netflix. She, along with Jamie Dooner, will executive produce the series through her production company, Crazy Cat Lady Entertainment.
Stanley made her acting debut as Kim Possible in the 2019 Disney Channel movie. Her subsequent credits include a recurring role on ABC’s The Goldbergs and a leading role in Freeform’s Cruel Summer. Her television resume also features appearances in Netflix’s Dead to Me, Hulu’s Pen15, and CBS’s Criminal Minds.
On the film front, Stanley recently portrayed Mia Lipani in Sony’s Karate Kid: Legends, co-starring with Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan. She has also appeared in The Sleepover (2020), Let Us In (2021), and Somewhere in Queens (2022). In the near future, she will star in Pretty Babies alongside Ashley Benson, Emily Alyn Lind, and Madelaine Petsch. Stanley is represented by Thruline Entertainment, Gersh, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, and Smelkinson.
