Amazon Fire TV Introduces New “Jump To Scene” Voice Feature with Alexa for Thousands of Movies
Amazon Fire TV is introducing an innovative feature on its AI-powered Alexa+ voice platform, enabling viewers to describe specific movie scenes and navigate directly to them on Prime Video.
This functionality responds to spoken inquiries that may not specifically mention the movie title. For instance, a user could say, “Jump to the scene when John McClane says ‘come out to the coast, we’ll get together, have a few laughs’” from Die Hard. Alternatively, a more general request like “Jump to the boulder chase scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark” would also work.
At launch, the feature includes tens of thousands of scenes from a wide array of movie titles available on Prime Video. Fire TV intends to expand the selection over time to incorporate TV series. Eligible titles are those available with a Prime membership or rented or purchased through Prime Video.
Unveiled in March, Alexa+ marks a significant advancement in Amazon’s voice assistant capabilities, driven by new AI functionalities. The company has committed substantial investments into AI infrastructure, recognizing its potential to enhance various services, with video being a key focus.

Customers who purchase an eligible device may receive early access to Alexa+, while others can request it. Following the announcement, Amazon reported onboarding hundreds of thousands of Prime members. When the early access period concludes—anticipated for January 2026—Alexa+ will remain free for Prime members, or available for a subscription of $19.99 per month.
The “jump to scene” feature harnesses AI technology across multiple Amazon services. Alexa+ is capable of identifying the movie title without the speaker explicitly stating it, using visual cues and captions to quickly comprehend the characters, plot, and actions within a scene. This feature is built on Amazon Bedrock and incorporates a variety of large language models, including Amazon Nova and Anthropic Claude.
According to a blog post from Fire TV, “Our number one mission at Fire TV is getting you to what you want to watch – fast. Just describe a movie scene like you would to a friend, and Alexa+ will jump directly to that specific moment—no more searching required. This feature joins Fire TV’s growing suite of AI capabilities, enhancing personalized recommendations based on customers’ viewing preferences and subscriptions while helping them discover content they want to watch even faster.”
