Professional Moves in Entertainment PR: Andrée Wiltens and Smith Join DDA
Matt Andrée Wiltens, the Senior Vice President and Head of Global Corporate Communications at Gersh, is set to take on a new role as Senior Vice President of U.S. Entertainment and Strategy at DDA. In tandem with his appointment, DDA has also welcomed Ryan Smith as Director of U.S./Domestic Film and Series.
As Andrée Wiltens transitions to DDA, Gersh will continue to engage with the agency as a client, ensuring that he maintains oversight of corporate communications and events for the firm. Both executives will be based in DDA’s Los Angeles office.
In his new position, Andrée Wiltens will collaborate closely with DDA partners to enhance the company’s film and entertainment sectors, while also exploring new business opportunities within the U.S. market. With two decades of experience in communications, film PR, and marketing, Andrée Wiltens previously spent five years at Amblin Partners, where he spearheaded award-winning marketing campaigns for notable films such as 1917, The Fabelmans, Green Book, and West Side Story, working alongside industry heavyweights like Steven Spielberg and Sam Mendes.
Following his tenure at Amblin, Andrée Wiltens contributed to the production of Ferrari under Oscar-nominated filmmaker Michael Mann. His career began at Paramount, where he dedicated ten years to public relations and marketing roles, focusing on both international and global brand strategies.
Ryan Smith brings nearly a decade of experience in handling campaigns for top-tier clients at agencies such as R&C and PMK, representing platforms including Apple TV, Lionsgate, and Amazon Prime Video. At DDA, he will lead the U.S. film and series team in Los Angeles, working in tandem with Katie Conklin and her New York City team.
Smith’s career commenced at Allied Global Marketing, where he was involved in publicity and promotions. He later joined Click Communications, managing film and home entertainment campaigns for major studios like Walt Disney Studios and Sony Pictures.
“Matt brings a rare combination of creative vision, operational expertise, and extensive industry connections, establishing him as a trusted advisor to some of the industry’s highest profile executives and creatives,” stated Dana Archer, a DDA partner, on behalf of the board. “Ryan is a highly respected and connected film and television publicist, whose leadership and passion for storytelling will shine at DDA. Both are accomplished professionals with a passion for movies, who will integrate seamlessly into our company culture as we continue our expansion in the U.S.”
