Erin Andrews Shares Her Thoughts on the Fur Coat That Sparked Conversations: ‘It Reminded Me of a Beyonce Video’
Erin Andrews’ Faux Fur Coat Sparks Fashion Buzz at NFL Playoffs
NFL reporter Erin Andrews became an unexpected style icon following her appearance at the San Francisco 49ers versus Philadelphia Eagles playoff game. Wearing a luxe faux fur coat, Andrews did not realize that her ensemble would generate such a buzz until after the 49ers secured a 23-19 victory.
"It’s such a different look for me," Andrews remarked during a January 13 interview with Glamour. She humorously noted, "In the wind, I know it looked like a Beyoncé video."
Andrews, 47, donned the FOX JACKET from AUTER in Smoke Noir, which features a striking smoke-and-black palette. The coat, priced at $950, quickly sold out following her appearance on the sidelines.

"It felt fabulous, it felt like a big event, it felt like a big wild card playoff game on FOX," Andrews said, expressing her excitement about wearing the piece in such an important setting. She noted how she felt this coat was the perfect match for the chilly and breezy conditions at Lincoln Financial Field.
Recalling the moment she first wore the coat, Andrews admitted, "I forgot I was even wearing it… because I was so locked in." This focus was necessary as she introduced player Christian McCaffrey during the pregame show.
Following her appearance, Andrews took to Instagram to share a photo of herself on the sidelines, tagging her stylist Daniela Romero, makeup artist Denise Madrigal, and fashion stylist Rob Zangardi. Romero’s brand is known for its commitment to cruelty-free materials.
Although she did not anticipate the reaction her look would evoke, Andrews believed it would prompt discussion on social media, particularly after hearing commentary from Michael Strahan during the event. "But did I think it would get such a big reaction? No, not at all," she admitted.
In an amusing anecdote, Andrews shared how fellow passengers at the airport inquired about her coat, with one asking if it was alive. "No, but it’s going to look damn good on camera," she quipped, reflecting on the comedic moments that followed.
Fan reactions were mixed, with some playfully comparing her look to an emu or Cruella de Vil. The animal rights organization PETA expressed support for her choice, posting on social media, "That’s how you serve a showstopping look without harming animals 👏✨ Love that this coat is faux! 🙏."
