Meghan Trainor has spoken out regarding the so-called “mom group drama.” On Thursday, January 8, the 32-year-old singer shared a video on her TikTok account, marking her first comment on the situation stemming from Ashley Tisdale French’s recent essay for The Cut, in which she described her experience with a “toxic” mom group.
In the video, Trainor playfully denoted the moment she discovered the drama, writing, “Me finding out about the apparent mom group drama.” The clip shows her animatedly reacting while typing at her computer. The background music features her new single, “Still Don’t Care,” from her upcoming album Toy With Me, set to be released on April 24.
“☕️☕️☕️ #stilldontcare,” Trainor captioned the video, which highlights her role as a mom navigating the complexities of group dynamics while raising her young children.
Ashley Tisdale French, aged 40, originally detailed her experience in a blog post in November 2025 before it was published in The Cut on January 1. In her essay, Tisdale French, a mother of two, revealed her decision to leave her mom friend group due to behaviors that echoed high school dynamics, despite having initially felt fortunate to connect with other mothers sharing similar experiences.
As her sense of belonging began to wane, Tisdale French recounted feeling less included in group activities, even being excluded from a birthday party event for her daughter. This rekindled feelings of inadequacy and nostalgia for her high school days.

Though Tisdale French refrained from naming her former friends, fans quickly identified past associations with personalities like Gaby Dalkin, Hilary Duff, and Meghan Trainor as part of her prior social circle.
While responses from Moore and Duff remain unspoken, Matthew Koma, Duff’s husband, seemingly addressed the issue by posting an image on his Instagram Stories that mirrored Tisdale’s original essay photo. He humorously captioned it with a fabricated headline critiquing the dynamics of mom groups.
Following the escalation of the drama, a source shared insights with PEOPLE, clarifying that the issue stemmed from a “misalignment of values.” “It didn’t warrant a dramatic breakup text,” the source noted, emphasizing that friendships often naturally drift apart.
Responses continue to emerge, as Gaby Dalkin also appeared to comment on the situation in a social media post, asking, “What did I miss??? 😆😆😆😆,” as she returned to online activity after a family break.
