Producer of ‘Heist: Robbing The Bank Of England’ Sells Minority Stake to Rosegown
John Farrar’s Homecoming Studios has secured a minority investment from Rosegown Investments, marking a significant milestone for the growing production company.
Rosegown’s investment in Homecoming represents its fourth backing of a UK independent production firm within the last three years. Homecoming recently celebrated its inaugural commission with the documentary Heist: Robbing the Bank of England, hosted by Marcel Theroux, for the Crime & Investigation network.
Though the exact percentage of the stake and investment amount remain undisclosed, Homecoming indicated that this “strategic investment” will enhance its capabilities in developing new formats and premium documentaries.
Farrar, who previously worked on HBO Max’s The Bakersfield Three and ITV’s The Playboy Bunny Murder, launched the Leeds-based Homecoming earlier this year. The company is currently in paid development with a major U.S. network and has established multiple co-production agreements, alongside its first commission with Heist.
As Rosegown continues to expand its influence in the UK production sector, the firm is led by seasoned industry professionals Ravinder Chahal and Marc Collins. Their investments span several companies, including Vibrant Television, Little Venice Studios, and Dare Pictures, from which Rosegown has already exited following a second round of investment from Asylum Entertainment, now known as Pantheon Media Group.
Farrar emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “This partnership marks a transformative step for Homecoming. Our mission is to bridge the gap between traditional and modern production models – from how IP is developed to how it’s funded and distributed. By joining forces with Rosegown, we’re turbo-charging a slate of formats, documentaries, and digital series that we’re excited to bring to the market.”
