Key Information
- SAG-AFTRA’s 32nd annual awards, recognizing top performances in film and television, announced nominations on January 7.
- This year marks the first instance of the awards being referred to as The Actor Awards, replacing the previous name of Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG Awards).
- The Actor Awards will stream live on Netflix on Sunday, March 1.
The Actor Awards have announced their nominees for the upcoming ceremony, evolving from the former Screen Actors Guild Awards.
On January 7, Janelle James from Abbott Elementary and breakout star Connor Storrie from Heated Rivalry revealed the nominees for exceptional film and television performances of 2025.
This rebranded Actor Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on March 1, streaming live on Netflix. Notably, Harrison Ford will receive the Life Achievement Award this year.
The name change reflects the organization’s desire to clarify the show’s focus on honoring actors in film and television. An official statement explained, “We wanted to provide clearer recognition in terms of what the show is about for our domestic and global audiences.” The updated name aims to streamline the awards’ identity as part of a new chapter.
