Jelly Roll Shares Why His Daughter’s Friends Couldn’t Visit Due to His Face Tattoos

Jelly Roll recently shared the challenges he faced while explaining his face tattoos to his daughter Bailee Ann’s friends during her childhood. Notably, the reactions of those friends’ parents proved to be even more difficult to navigate.
In a post dated January 5, the singer reflected on these experiences during an appearance on Taste of Country Nights. He recalled how he would mislead his daughter’s kindergarten classmates about the ink on his face. “It was so funny, because all of her little friends would go, ‘What is all that stuff on your face?’” he said.
Continuing the playful ruse, he told the children, “You won’t believe this, I only draw this on when I come see y’all so y’all are excited about it.” When they questioned how he managed to replicate the designs so consistently, he explained, “I got the little sticker things now because I been coming so much.”
The situation took a turn as Bailee’s friends grew older and their parents began to restrict visits due to concerns about Jelly’s tattoos and the lifestyle they believed they signified, as reported.
Despite these challenges, Jelly maintains a close relationship with Bailee, with whom he shares joint custody alongside his wife, Bunnie Xo. He has spoken candidly about his journey to reconnect with Bailee during her childhood after serving time in jail, emphasizing his efforts to demonstrate his capability as a father to the court. Now 17, Bailee has taken on a role in Jelly’s life, recently hosting a prom for her father and stepmother, a moment neither of them experienced in their own high school years.
While Jelly’s tattoos are an integral part of his identity, he has expressed regret about many of them. “I regret 98 percent of these tattoos, 97 percent. Almost all of them,” he remarked in a March 2024 interview with GQ. “Now that I’m 40, I’m like, ‘What the f–k was I thinking?’”
