Topanga Canyon Boulevard Reopens Following Weekend Storm Concerns
Topanga Canyon Boulevard Reopens After Weekend Rockslide Cleanup
A section of Topanga Canyon Boulevard has reopened following a closure due to rockslides and flooding concerns. The 3.6-mile stretch of State Route 27, which connects Pacific Coast Highway with Grand View Drive, closed on Friday in anticipation of the recent storm. It was reopened around midday on Monday after crews successfully cleared rocks and debris from the roadway.
Over the weekend, multiple slides were reported in the affected area. In addition to the recent weather impacts, State Route 27 continues to serve as an active work zone for ongoing recovery efforts from the Palisades Fire and previous winter storms. The road is subject to daily closures from midnight to 5 a.m., and includes traffic restrictions, with one-way control in place south of Topanga town center.
Caltrans District 7 announced the reopening via social media, highlighting the successful removal of rockfalls and debris flows while reminding drivers of the ongoing work.
