- Mickey Rourke has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to help cover $59,100 in back rent, reportedly to avoid eviction from his Los Angeles residence.
- A friend, Liya-Joelle Jones, created the campaign with Rourke’s permission, helping it raise over $1,500 within six hours of launch.
- “Mickey is going through a very difficult time right now, and it’s been incredibly touching to see how many people care about him and want to help,” Jones remarked.
Mickey Rourke is seeking assistance through crowdfunding as he grapples with significant financial challenges. The actor, who is 73 years old, has reportedly fallen behind in his rental payments, owing nearly $60,000.
Last month, Rourke received a notice from his landlord demanding payment of $59,100 in outstanding rent or vacate his residence within three days. Now, in an effort to raise the required funds, he has turned to GoFundMe.
The fundraising initiative, titled “Help Mickey Rourke Stay in His Home,” was launched by Liya-Joelle Jones, a friend and member of Rourke’s management team, on January 4. According to the campaign, the goal is to raise $100,000, and it achieved over $1,500 within its first six hours.
According to the fundraiser’s description, “Mickey Rourke is currently facing a very difficult and urgent situation: he is at risk of being evicted from his home. Life doesn’t always move in a straight line, and despite everything Mickey has given through his work and his life, he is now dealing with a challenging financial moment that has put his housing at risk.”

The GoFundMe description emphasizes that it has been created with Rourke’s full permission and aims to cover immediate housing-related expenses to avert eviction.
“The goal is to give Mickey some stability and peace of mind during a stressful time so he can stay in his home and have the space to get back on his feet,” it continues. “Any donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference.”
Speaking with *The Hollywood Reporter*, Jones noted, “Mickey is going through a very difficult time right now, and it’s been incredibly touching to see how many people care about him and want to help.”
Rourke was officially served a notice on December 18, requiring payment of back rent owed to his landlord, Eric Goldie, or vacate the property. A complaint filed on December 29 stated that Rourke had allegedly failed to respond to the notice, which was both posted at the property and mailed to him.

The property in question is a three-bedroom, 1,600-square-foot home, according to its listing on Zillow. Rourke signed the lease in March 2025, originally set at a monthly rent of $5,200, which later increased to $7,000.
In addition to the back rent, Goldie seeks compensation for attorney fees and the forfeiture of the rental agreement. Rourke began renting the property shortly before pursuing legal action against *Celebrity Big Brother UK* over an alleged pay dispute related to his controversial exit from the show in April 2025.
During that time, Rourke’s manager stated that the series had disrespected him, claiming he had not received his payments and was subjected to public embarrassment.
“There’s no question that when *Big Brother* booked Mickey Rourke, they were fully aware of both his public persona and how it aligned with his Hollywood rebel image,” the manager articulated, noting that the actor’s reality television presence was expected to be “explosive, controversial and attention-grabbing.”
