Maná Expands Their Popular Vivir Sin Aire Tour with More Shows in Los Angeles
Maná concluded their latest residency at the Kia Forum with a sold-out performance on Saturday night. However, fans who were unable to attend have reason to celebrate, as the band announced on Monday the addition of 19 new shows to their ongoing Vivir Sin Aire tour, which includes multiple locations in L.A. and Southern California.
The Honda Center in Anaheim is set to host Maná on June 5 and 6. Other Southern California stops will include a performance at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert on September 26 and another at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista on October 10.
Additionally, the band will return to the Kia Forum for shows on September 18 and 19, further extending their record for the most arena performances in the L.A. area to 47. On November 21, Maná surpassed Bruce Springsteen’s record with their 43rd concert in the region.
In recognition of their long-standing relationship with L.A. and the iconic Forum venue, a permanent wall installation backstage now bears the inscription: “Mana – Kings of L.A.”
Throughout their career, the Grammy-winning group has performed over 30 shows at the Forum. Notably, they held 11 consecutive sold-out shows at Staples Center in 2012 in support of their eighth album, “Drama Y Luz.” Their connection to the city is further highlighted by their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, awarded in 2016.
Before their concert on November 21, band members shared insights with The Times about their ties to L.A. and their message to Latino fans amid ongoing political challenges facing the community.
“L.A. has always been very influential for us … and we’ve seen the city evolve,” lead singer Fher Olvera remarked. “Right now our message [to our Latino fans] is to have faith, do not despair … Like the Buddhists say, ‘Everything shall pass.’ These problems will also pass, and thankfully it won’t take too long [because] presidential terms don’t last so long — although this term has felt like five minutes underwater,” he added.
