Cast Dynamics on "Landman": A Journey from Pressure to Partnership
The cast of Landman has formed a tight-knit family, a bond that emerged amid an intense production environment. Ali Larter, who portrays Angela Norris, recalled her experience on the show, stating she and co-star Michelle Randolph faced significant pressure when filming began in 2024.
“The vibe was high-pressure, high-octane. We were thrown into the fire very quickly,” Larter reflected. New episodes of Landman currently air on Sundays on Paramount+.
Larter and Randolph, who play the mother-daughter duo Angela and Ainsley Norris, found solace in each other during those demanding early days of production. “We spent a lot of time together during the first season, and there wasn’t any hand-holding,” Larter noted. “It was amazing that we had each other to lean on, and that really formed this bond.”

Larter acknowledged the role of creator Taylor Sheridan in shaping the show’s cast dynamics. “Taylor is masterful at casting," she praised. "He knows how to create an environment where people will get along.”
Further commending Randolph, Larter remarked, "She’s a talented actress and just the best.”
The actress also defended Sheridan against criticisms concerning her character’s storyline, stating that he excels at creating complex characters that elicit emotional responses. "Sheridan is a provocateur who loves to write characters that initiate a reaction," Larter asserted.

In her reflections on the show’s appeal, Larter stated, "It’s incredible how Taylor made oil fascinating, and the landscape. You would never know on paper that this show would be so riveting.”
She expressed high regard for co-star Billy Bob Thornton, whom she called “one of the best actors working in our business.” Their collaborative chemistry, she noted, fosters authenticity in their performances. “He brings out the best in me,” Larter revealed.
New episodes of Landman continue to premiere on Sundays.
