The Daily Show Playfully Highlights Donald Trump’s Naps During Events with Fun Video Montage
As the new year approaches, The Daily Show extends festive greetings, presenting a satirical farewell to President Donald Trump. In a 10-minute compilation video, the show humorously showcases clips of Trump dozing off at various high-profile public events.
Set to the tune of “Silent Night,” the video begins with a warm, crackling fireplace. However, instead of a cozy hearth, it features Trump captured in moments of slumber at key occasions.
“Who the hell sleeps in front of the paparazzi, the media? How do you sleep in front of the media? And he’s out cold, you see the dribble coming down the side of his cheek. Who the hell wants to sleep with these people watching? I could never fall asleep under those circumstances. You’ll never see me sleeping in front of cameras,” Trump’s voice can be heard, juxtaposed against the compilation that recalls his past comments about former President Joe Biden, whom he famously labeled “Sleepy Joe.”
The Daily Show joins a roster of late-night shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in humorously critiquing Trump’s public appearances. Kimmel remarked, “If you can sleep through that voice [RFK Jr.’s], then you are tired, you are fatigued.” In light of the ongoing mockery, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to the New York Times, asserting the president was “listening attentively and running the entire” early December meeting.
