Emma Slater from ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Suggests a Fun Crossover with Nathan Fielder’s ‘The Rehearsal’
Following the recent season of The Rehearsal, Emma Slater has expressed her desire to have comedian Nathan Fielder join her on the dance floor for a future season of Dancing with the Stars. The proposal comes after an engaging Season 2, which sparked discussions surrounding mental health, notably in Fielder’s unique style of comedy.
Fresh off Season 34 of the popular reality competition series, Slater pitched the idea on TikTok, suggesting that Fielder’s participation could create an interesting crossover with his HBO series. “I know who I want to dance with next season on Dancing with the Stars, and that is Nathan Fielder, of the genius that is The Rehearsal and Nathan for You,” she stated enthusiastically. She further praised him, saying, “If you haven’t watched these, he is a national treasure. This human is hilarious, and I’m obsessed with him and lots of people are. He would be amazing on Dancing with the Stars.”
While she expressed doubts about his dancing skills, she remained optimistic about the fun they could have. “I have no idea if he can dance, and if I was to guess, I’d say he possibly can’t… but we would have the best time,” Slater said, humorously calling out Fielder. “So, Nathan Fielder, I’m calling you out.”
Slater explained that the premise of The Rehearsal, where Fielder sets up elaborate simulations to help people navigate their anxieties, could effortlessly translate into the reality of Dancing with the Stars. “The biggest, hilarious moment in American history could be that Nathan fabricates this entire dancing competition, which is a mock rehearsal for the real thing,” she added. “There’s a way that this could be the rehearsal for the real thing, and that would be the biggest joke in the world and I would be here for it.”
In Season 34, Slater was partnered with comedian Andy Richter, and they were eliminated in Week 9. The season finale, which received its highest ratings since 2016, saw Robert Irwin crowned the new mirrorball champion alongside partner Witney Carson.
