IT: Welcome to Derry Captivates Fans with Record-Breaking Audience for Gripping Season 1 Finale
IT: Welcome to Derry closed its first season with a significant surge in viewership during its Chapter One finale.
The season conclusion attracted 6.5 million viewers across HBO and HBO Max within the first three days of its release, according to Warner Bros. Discovery. This figure represents a 12% increase from the penultimate episode, which previously held the record for the series’ highest viewership.
Warner Bros. Discovery reported that the inaugural season is now averaging nearly 20 million global viewers, with 11.5 million from the U.S. alone.
With the first season concluded, HBO has announced that the series ranks among the Top 3 original series debuts since the launch of HBO Max, following The Last of Us and House of the Dragon.

The season finale not only addressed some mysteries surrounding the supernatural entity disturbing Derry and its connection to Pennywise the Clown but also raised several new questions. Executive producer and director Andy Muschietti envisions a three-season arc to explore these themes further.
As of now, IT: Welcome to Derry has not received approval for a second season.
The series is executive produced by Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti through their Double Dream production company, alongside co-showrunners Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane.
