Former President Barack Obama has continued his tradition of sharing his favorite music, books, and movies for the year 2025. His list includes popular artists such as Lady Gaga, Olivia Dean, and Drake.
On Thursday, December 18, Obama posted graphics on social media detailing his top entertainment choices for the year. Among the standout tracks were Gaga’s hit “Abracadabra,” Dean’s “Nice to Each Other,” and Drake’s “Nokia.” The list also features Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “Luther,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for an impressive 13 weeks, alongside Chappell Roan’s “The Giver.”
Obama’s musical tastes extend to BLACKPINK’s “Jump,” Bruce Springsteen’s “Faithless,” Rosalía’s “Sexo, Violencia y Llantas,” Gunna’s “Just Say Dat,” Laufey’s “Silver Lining,” and Alex Warren’s chart staple “Ordinary.”
“In keeping with a tradition I started during my time in the White House, I’m sharing my annual lists of favorite books, movies, and music,” Obama wrote. “I hope you find something new to enjoy—and please send any recommendations for me to check out!”
Obama is not alone in sharing his favorite year-end selections. Billboard released its staff picks for 2025 earlier this month, showcasing both songs and albums, in addition to the year-end charts.
Obama also praised films such as One Battle After Another, Sinners, Hamnet, and several books, including Mark Twain by Ron Chernow and The Book of Records by Madeleine Thien.
The complete list of Obama’s favorite songs is available below.
