16 Small Dogs Saved from Palmdale Park: Many Were in Need of Grooming
PALMDALE, Calif. – Sixteen small dogs were rescued from Pelona Vista Park in Palmdale after being reportedly abandoned. Local authorities are now seeking assistance from the public to identify those responsible.
The Los Angeles County Palmdale Animal Care Center was alerted about the dogs, which were spotted roaming the park along Tierra Subida Avenue. According to reports, the dogs were in poor condition, with matted fur dirty and filled with waste.
"Cpl. Ramons arrived on scene and observed 16 loose small dogs roaming a small corner of the park," the department disclosed via social media. "Almost every dog had matted fur filled with dirt and [feces]."
Additional officers were summoned to aid in the rescue. Animal control workers have begun treatment and vaccinations for the dogs, aiming to find them new homes.
Authorities are encouraging anyone with information regarding the circumstances of the dogs’ abandonment to come forward.
