101 Studios Expands with New Music Department Led by Jon Borris
101 Studios is broadening its operations by launching a new music department, which will be headed by Jon Borris, based in Nashville.
In this expansion, 101 Studios has formed a partnership with Thirty Tigers, a Nashville-based company known for its expertise in marketing, distribution, and other label services tailored for independent artists. Thirty Tigers focuses primarily on Country and Americana music genres and boasts a roster that includes prominent artists such as Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Turnpike Troubadours, Lucinda Williams, Lupe Fiasco, Ryan Bingham, and Portugal. Borris will oversee artist signings in his new role and aims to foster collaborations with the company’s film and television divisions.
Before joining 101 Studios, Borris spent six years at Republic Records, where he collaborated with chart-topping artists including Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, and Drake. His extensive career also includes a 20-year tenure at Sony Music Entertainment, where he played a key role in developing the careers of artists like Adele, Beyoncé, and John Legend.
