Zuckerman Sisters Write Script for ‘Scream 8’ as ‘Scream 7’ Breaks Franchise Record with Over $200 Million Worldwide
Spyglass Develops Eighth Installment of Scream Franchise
Spyglass Media is gearing up for the development of the eighth installment in the iconic Scream franchise, with Lilla and Nora Zuckerman attached as writers.
The Zuckerman sisters have recently gained recognition as showrunners for the successful Peacock series Poker Face. Their extensive experience includes writing and serving as co-executive producers on several popular shows, such as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Suits, Fringe, and Prodigal Son.
This announcement follows the success of Scream 7, which marked a significant milestone for the franchise. The film, featuring the return of original scribe Kevin Williamson as director, has garnered over $200 million at the global box office, a record for the series in its 30-year history. Additionally, Scream 7 achieved a franchise record opening with $97.2 million worldwide, and it featured returning cast members such as Neve Campbell, Isabel May, Courteney Cox, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, and Matthew Lillard.
