The animated feature Zootopia 2, the highest-grossing animated film in MPA history with a total of $1.866 billion, garnered an impressive 32 million views globally within its first week of release on Disney+. The film became available on the streaming platform on March 11.
To date, the Zootopia franchise—including the original film, the streaming series Zootopia+, and Zootopia 2—has amassed over 885 million hours of streaming time worldwide.
Further solidifying its success, Zootopia 2 ranks as the eighth highest-grossing film of all time and the top domestic release of 2025. The original Zootopia holds the title of the seventh most popular movie on Disney+, maintaining its status as one of the most-streamed films across all platforms in the U.S. for three of the past six years, according to Nielsen.
In 2023, the Shanghai Disney Resort introduced the first Zootopia-themed land, allowing guests to explore the Mammalian Metropolis and interact with beloved characters from the film. The main attraction, Zootopia: Hot Pursuit, has been recognized as the highest-rated experience at Shanghai Disneyland, with one in four visitors indicating they visited specifically for this new land. The park has also quickly incorporated new content from Zootopia 2, including the film’s latest Gazelle song, showcased through newly debuted Audio-Animatronics, just weeks following the film’s theatrical release. Additionally, guests have consumed over 4.8 million Disney Zootopia Pawpsicles, totaling 480 tons of ice cream. The film’s appeal in China is notable, with the international box office revenue reaching $651.2 million compared to $427.8 million in the domestic market.
The Zootopia brand is also thriving in Disney consumer products, with a variety of collectibles, blind boxes, and partnerships with brands such as Pop Mart, Miniso, Tony Moly, and Uniqlo. Notably, the Zootopia carrot pen sold out twice on DisneyStore.com—initially at launch and once again after being restocked.
