Makeup artist Soo Park recently worked with actress Zoey Deutch for the Gotham Awards red carpet, showcasing a blend of elegance and glam. Fresh off her Broadway debut in *Our Town*, Deutch donned a polka-dot haute couture gown from Chanel’s FW22/23 collection, complemented by striking white gold earrings featuring cascading pearls.
During the preparation, Park drew inspiration from Deutch’s jewelry, emphasizing a radiant, flawless complexion paired with fluttering lashes and a hint of blush. “I took inspiration from the fine jewelry Zoey wore, which had a brilliant shine,” said Park. “I wanted to create a flawless, skin-focused makeup look.”
Holiday Makeup Tips from Soo Park
Park recommends several tips for achieving a holiday party look. “To get that ‘glow from within,’ I applied Chanel Les Beiges Sheer Healthy Glow Highlighting Fluid on high points of her face for a dewy finish,” he explained. This highlighting fluid was also mixed with the Ultra le Teint Ultrawear Foundation to enhance Deutch’s overall radiance.
To save time while achieving a glowy look, Park suggests keeping the Chanel Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick handy. “This multi-use illuminating stick creates a beautiful glow on the highpoints of the face,” he noted, recommending its use on the lips and eyes as well.
Park also advocates for a deep burgundy lip for holiday celebrations, stating it offers a sophisticated yet festive touch. He often uses Chanel Rouge Allure L’Extrait in Rouge Excessif, favoring its creamy and nourishing formula.
Looking Forward to 2025
As for future beauty trends, Park predicts a focus on fresh skin and softly bitten lips in 2025. “The trend will shift towards a more natural look with soft lip lines,” he stated, highlighting the potential rise of products that create a “bitten lip” effect.
Lastly, Park emphasized that a Vitamin C serum and sunscreen are essential products every beauty cabinet should have. “These two are crucial for maintaining healthy skin,” he advised.
