Zendaya’s Subtle Clue During ‘The Drama’ Press Tour: Is She Married to Tom Holland?
Zendaya is sparking speculation about her marital status during her promotional tour for her new film, “The Drama,” as she weaves a bridal theme into her wardrobe choices.
At the film’s Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday, the actress shared that she and her stylist, Law Roach, used the age-old wedding rhyme “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” as a guiding principle for her looks. “I was brainstorming with Law about how I would theme-dress for this film,” Zendaya explained on the red carpet. “I remembered the saying: ‘Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.’ So, this is my ‘something old.’”
Her “something old” was the ivory Vivienne Westwood Bridal gown she first wore to the 2015 Oscars at age 18—an appearance that garnered significant media attention after remarks made by co-host Giuliana Rancic concerning her hair styled in dreadlocks. Roach reinforced this styling choice by sharing a throwback photo on Instagram with the caption “SOMETHING OLD.”
As for her “something borrowed,” Zendaya donned a vintage Caché dress inspired by an iconic design originally worn by Whitney Houston in a 1987 photo shoot. This dress design later found fame again when Sarah Jessica Parker wore a version in the 2008 film “Sex and the City.”
Additionally, fans noticed a gold wedding band paired with her engagement ring during her appearances, fueling marriage rumors. Roach further defined Zendaya’s “something new” with a sculptural Louis Vuitton midi dress from the brand’s fall 2026 collection, which made its debut just a week earlier. This striking design was showcased before the Oscars with a teaser caption that read “The Nite Before.”
For “something blue,” Zendaya wore a sheer floral Alexander McQueen gown with pastel blue pumps during her appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Monday. During this appearance, she humorously addressed AI-generated wedding photos of her and Tom Holland, yet she did not deny any marriage rumors.
Roach first expressed that “the wedding already happened” at the Actor Awards on March 1, and Zendaya fueled the speculation further by attending a couple’s wedding in Las Vegas on March 14, where she signed their marriage certificate, joking about revealing her “last name.”
Zendaya and Holland have been dating since at least 2021, having met on the set of “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” The couple got engaged over the holidays in 2024, with Zendaya showcasing her stunning 5-carat diamond engagement ring at the 2025 Golden Globes. They currently reside together in London and are set to reunite on screen in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” which is scheduled to premiere on July 31.
The ongoing speculation surrounding Zendaya’s marital status has become a clever promotion for “The Drama,” where she plays one half of an engaged couple facing turmoil. The film is set to hit theaters on April 3.
