Zendaya Dazzles in White Dress Inspired by Carrie Bradshaw as Wedding Rumors Swirl with Tom Holland
Zendaya made a striking fashion statement at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards in Los Angeles on March 12, showcasing a mini dress originally worn by Sarah Jessica Parker‘s character Carrie Bradshaw in the 2008 film Sex and the City and later donned by late music icon Whitney Houston.
The 29-year-old actress wowed attendees in the Eugene Alexander design, characterized by a one-shoulder neckline, floral embellishment, and gold accents. The dress also featured a thigh-high slit and an asymmetrical hem, elevating her glamorous look.
Completing her ensemble, Zendaya accessorized with a Cartier Love bracelet, stud earrings, and a simple gold ring that has drawn speculation regarding her marital status. Her makeup was equally impressive, featuring well-groomed eyebrows, dewy skin, rosy cheeks, and defined lashes. She opted for lined, glossy lips, while her brunette hair was styled in soft side bangs and neat curls.
Sarah Jessica Parker first wore the dress while filming Sex and the City in 2007, pairing it with black strappy heels and a vibrant yellow clutch. Like Zendaya, Parker styled her long blonde hair down in curls and complemented her look with a gold bracelet.
Whitney Houston wore this iconic dress in 1986 for an album cover shoot, which later graced the cover of Time magazine.
In related news, speculation continues about Zendaya’s relationship with fellow actor Tom Holland. Stylist Law Roach claimed at the 2026 Actor Awards that the couple had already married, stating, “The wedding has already happened. You missed it.” When pressed for confirmation, Roach affirmed, “It’s very true!”
Recently, Zendaya has been spotted without her engagement ring, which she debuted at the 2025 Golden Globes, instead wearing a modest gold band.
