Zayn Malik launched his much-anticipated Las Vegas residency on Tuesday night at Dolby Live at Park MGM. The 33-year-old singer showcased a diverse setlist, featuring songs from across his career, including several unreleased tracks.
During the concert, Malik shared his excitement about upcoming music, stating, “I’ve been in the studio a bit, got a new record for you guys now, pretty soon. I’m really excited about that, and obviously, we’re going to be playing you some new songs tonight that you’ve never heard before.” Fans responded with enthusiasm, carrying on the tradition of affectionately “woofing” at his shows.
Dressed in a blue military jacket adorned with gold epaulettes, Malik opened the show with “She” from Mind of Mine. He later transitioned into a more emotional segment, performing popular tracks such as “Scripted” and “Lied To,” with lyrics displayed on large screens behind him.
“We’re ready to take the vibes down for a second, get emotional, deep in our feelings,” he noted, setting the mood for a more intimate phase of the performance.

During a sultry performance of “It’s You,” Malik was illuminated by a single spotlight, while fluid green graphics reminiscent of the Northern Lights danced on a screen behind him. The audience participated by lighting up their cell phone flashlights, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere.
“I don’t know how I’m here. It still kind of feels a little bit like a dream to me,” he remarked, reflecting on his residency.
Emphasizing a minimalist approach, Malik opted for subtle graphics throughout the performance, allowing the focus to remain on him and his eight-person all-female band.

As the 80-minute show progressed, Malik honored his promise to unveil new material, performing several unreleased songs. Tracks included “Used to the Blues,” “Die For Me,” “Fatal,” and “Take Turns.” Notably, he also sang “Drunk” from his debut album for the first time. “I told you I’d be singing songs I’ve never performed before. I didn’t say you haven’t heard the song before,” he explained, referencing the 2016 track.
This opening night marked a pivotal moment for Malik, who has been battling a sinus infection for the past two weeks. He frequently sipped tea between songs and expressed gratitude for the audience’s understanding of his condition. “My voice is a bit dry, so thank you guys immensely for being patient with me,” he said as he neared the show’s conclusion.

While speculation regarding a residency for fellow One Direction member Harry Styles continues, Zayn Malik is the first to secure a Vegas show. This milestone arrives less than two years after the release of his fourth studio album, Room Under the Stairs, and follows his inaugural solo tour, parts of which were rescheduled after the passing of Liam Payne in October 2024.
