Zach Galifianakis Joins Netflix for a Fun Gardening Show
Zach Galifianakis, known for his unique celebrity interviews on the web series *Between Two Ferns*, is stepping into the world of gardening with a new project for Netflix.
The upcoming series, titled *This is a Gardening Show*, is characterized as a “refreshing and whimsical take on gardening” and is set to premiere on Earth Day, April 22.
In contrast to a traditional expert role, Galifianakis will explore gardening through “curiosity and self-effacing humor,” fusing comedy with environmental appreciation. His goal is to provide audiences with practical gardening tips and insights.
An avid gardening enthusiast, Galifianakis’ new venture aligns with Netflix’s increasing focus on lifestyle programming. Previously, he hosted *Between Two Ferns*, a satirical talk show that ran for a decade and later inspired a Netflix film.

“Zach brings an infectious warmth and humor that makes the world of gardening accessible and delightful for all ages,” said Chris Kim, producer of *This is a Gardening Show*. “He can leave you in stitches one moment and, in the next breath, have you genuinely convinced that horse manure is the chocolate soufflé of the gardening world, and before you know it, you’re googling the nearest stable.”
Director Brook Linder remarked, “Making this show often felt like Zach’s excuse to talk to other gardeners. I kinda think his garden was struggling, and he needed help he couldn’t get by walking up to these people in their backyard. You will see a grown man honestly gasp when shown the proper way to plant a seed. This is peak TV.”
*This is a Gardening Show* is directed by Linder, with Kim as producer and full executive production by Galifianakis, Frank Schema, and Jon Kamen. The production company is RadicalMedia in collaboration with Billios Productions.
Galifianakis is also known for his roles in *The Hangover* trilogy, *Baskets*, and *Birdman*.
