Your Mother’s Day Weekend Weather Guide for Southern California
Los Angeles Braces for a Scorching Mother’s Day Weekend
LOS ANGELES – Southern California is set to experience a notably hot Mother’s Day weekend, with some areas potentially reaching triple-digit temperatures by Monday.
High pressure is expected to build over the next few days, leading to an increase in temperatures across the region. Despite a morning marine layer providing brief coastal relief, FOX 11 meteorologist Maria Quiban noted, "It’s still going to be dry, and it’s still going to be abnormal."
The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning for the Coachella Valley until Monday at 8 p.m., where temperatures could soar up to 108 degrees.
Temperature forecasts indicate varying conditions throughout the area:
- Coastal Regions: A refreshing sea breeze is expected to keep afternoon highs in the low 70s.
- Mountain Communities: Pleasant temperatures in the upper 70s are anticipated over the weekend.
- Inland Areas: Residents of Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura counties may see highs in the mid-80s, with possibilities of reaching 90 degrees on Monday.
- Valleys and Deserts: For the Inland Empire and desert regions, temperatures could climb to the low to mid-90s over the weekend, approaching triple digits by Monday.
As the heat peaks, forecasts suggest a return to seasonal averages by Tuesday, providing some relief to residents.
