Los Angeles is set to welcome a variety of exciting events in the coming days, showcasing arts, community engagement, and entertainment. Among the highlights are AIDS Walk Los Angeles and the lively Panteón Fest, contributing to a vibrant cultural landscape.
From October 6 to 12, the iconic Rodeo Drive will host a special event celebrating fine timepieces and jewelry, featuring exclusive displays and rare selections at Gearys’ Rolex and Patek Philippe boutiques. The Rodeo Drive Committee will showcase the craftsmanship that the area is famed for, promising a bustling atmosphere for visitors.
On October 8, Gallery 33 at The Georgian in Santa Monica will unveil the group exhibition Arcana: Art as Divination, running through November 5. This collection explores tarot and oracle decks as evolving artistic entities. "Tarot The Chariot," created by Mike Wicox, exemplifies the unique intersection of art and mysticism in this thought-provoking exhibit.
The Bloomberg Screentime event, taking place on October 8-9, will gather industry leaders from entertainment and culture for discussions on the future of these fields. On October 11, the Getty Center will celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day with a variety of activities, including zine-making and poetry readings, highlighting the rich cultural contributions of Southern California’s Native American communities. The day’s events will be complemented by the Jules Muck Vintage Collection, showcasing artwork from the Venice-based artist’s earlier days in New York.
The Panteón Fest on October 11 in Oxnard’s Heritage Square will mark a family-friendly Día de Los Muertos celebration, featuring over 30 food and craft vendors, live performances, and community altars. This event will highlight the traditions associated with this important cultural holiday.
AIDS Walk Los Angeles will take place on October 12, starting at West Hollywood Park. The event will feature performances by RuPaul’s Drag Race star Heidi N Closet and a variety of community booths, fostering awareness and solidarity in the fight against AIDS.
Closing the week’s festivities, the K.A.M.P. project at the Hammer Museum on October 12 will invite children to engage in creative activities led by artists, with celebrity guest readings enhancing the experience.
