Actress Winona Ryder made a striking appearance at Balenciaga’s show during Paris Fashion Week on March 7, unveiling a fresh haircut that turned heads. The new brand ambassador showcased a shaggy wolf cut, reminiscent of a glamorous mullet.
Ryder, whose hairstyles have evolved over her decades-long career, surprised many with her latest look at the highly anticipated fashion event. Once known for her iconic pixie cut in the 1990s, her mullet shag now extends just below her shoulders and features bangs and face-framing layers. She complemented her hairstyle with an oversized chocolate brown blazer layered over a black shirt, tucked into matching brown pants. Her makeup remained soft, featuring a smokey eye and rosy cheeks.
Accompanied by her boyfriend, fashion designer Scott Mackinlay Hahn, Ryder navigated through the crowd at the show. According to reports from WWD, the “Stranger Things” star beamed as she greeted Balenciaga’s CEO, Gianfranco Gianangeli, with a warm hug.
Ryder is among 11 newly appointed Balenciaga ambassadors, a roster revealed last month under the creative direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli. The designer articulated his vision by stating, “I chose individuals not characters. Human beings with distinct stories, faces marked by experience, vulnerability, and nuance. I was not looking for constructed personas, but for real presence.”
Ryder’s hairstyles have long captivated fans, and she recently reflected on her influential 1990s looks in an interview with Elle U.K. The actress noted the unexpected popularity of her haircut from 1994’s “Reality Bites.” “All during the ‘90s I cut my own hair, and I remember being incredibly surprised and flattered when my ‘Reality Bites’ haircut became popular,” she shared.
With this latest transformation, Ryder continues to set trends and inspire, highlighting her enduring presence in the realm of fashion and pop culture.
