The 2026 World Cup is poised to unite soccer teams and artists from across the globe, featuring performances from renowned acts including BTS, Madonna, and others during this year’s FIFA tournament.
On May 14, Global Citizen announced that the K-pop group BTS and pop icon Madonna will join Shakira for a performance at the final match on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay, this event will mark the first halftime show in the history of the World Cup final.
“This will be a historic moment for the FIFA World Cup and a show befitting the biggest sporting event in the world,” stated FIFA President Gianni Infantino in an Instagram post from March 2022 during the announcement of the inaugural halftime program.
The finale is just one highlight in a series of musical performances leading up to the World Cup kick-off on June 11. Several prominent artists are set to appear at opening ceremonies worldwide. Katy Perry and Future will perform at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on June 12, coinciding with the U.S. team’s match against Paraguay. Meanwhile, Michael Bublé and Alanis Morissette will provide entertainment before Canada faces Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto on the same day.
LISA, Anitta, J Balvin, Danny Ocean, and more are also included in the full opening ceremonies lineup. The excitement builds as fans anticipate these performances leading up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
