EXCLUSIVE: Martin Scorsese Completes Cast for Upcoming Apple Film "What Happens at Night"
Director Martin Scorsese has finalized the cast for his forthcoming Apple film, What Happens at Night, featuring the addition of actress Welker White. White has previously collaborated with Scorsese on notable projects, including GoodFellas, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Irishman, and Killers of the Flower Moon.
Details regarding her character remain undisclosed. She joins a prominent cast led by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, which also includes Patricia Clarkson, Mads Mikkelsen, and Jared Harris.
Produced by Apple Studios in partnership with StudioCanal, What Happens at Night is an adaptation of Peter Cameron’s novel. The story unfolds around a married American couple who journey to a small, snow-laden European town to adopt a baby.
Scorsese returns to Apple after his work on the Academy Award-nominated Killers of the Flower Moon, directing and producing under Sikelia Productions. DiCaprio, Lawrence, and Daniel Lupi are also involved in the production, alongside executive producers Lisa Frechette and Marianne Bower for Sikelia, Jennifer Davisson for Appian Way, and Justine Ciarrocchi for Excellent Cadaver. StudioCanal announced the project earlier this year after acquiring the rights to the book, with Anna Marsh, Shana Eddy Grouf, and Aaron Ensweiler set to provide executive production for the studio.
Welker White, recognized for her performances in films such as Dead Poets Society, Nora Ephron’s This Is My Life, HBO’s Emmy-winning Bad Education, and Radha Blank’s The 40-Year-Old Version, is set to appear next alongside Keanu Reeves in Jonah Hill’s Apple film Outcome. She is represented by Boals, Winnett & Associates.
