Weekend Road Closures Start Tonight on the 605 Freeway in Pico Rivera
Weekend Lane Closures Scheduled on 605 Freeway in Pico Rivera for Paving Work
PICO RIVERA, CA — Lane and ramp closures along the 605 Freeway are set to begin Friday night as part of ongoing paving work, according to Caltrans. The affected area extends from Telegraph Road to just south of Slauson Avenue.
The lane closures will occur in stages: the northbound 605 will be reduced to one lane from 10 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Saturday. From 4 a.m. Saturday to 11 p.m. Sunday, two lanes will be open. Following that, the freeway will revert to one lane from 11 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday.
Specific ramp closures are as follows:
- The northbound 605 off-ramp to eastbound Telegraph Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Monday.
- The northbound 605 off-ramp to westbound Telegraph Road will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday.
- The northbound 605 Telegraph Road on-ramp will also be closed during this timeframe from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.
- Additionally, the northbound Interstate 5 connector ramp to the northbound 605 will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.
- The southbound Interstate 5 connector ramp to the northbound 605 will follow the same closure schedule, from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.
These closures are part of the larger $260 million Super 605 freeway corridor project aimed at rehabilitating the freeway from Long Beach to the San Gabriel Valley. Future extended weekend lane reductions are expected to continue through 2026.
