Violence Erupts as Street Takeover Leads to Break-In and Stabbing at Luxury High-Rise in Downtown LA
Street Takeover Outside Crypto.com Arena Escalates into Violence
LOS ANGELES – A street takeover in downtown Los Angeles early Sunday morning spiraled into violence, resulting in a break-in at a luxury high-rise and one person being stabbed.
The incident began around 3 a.m. on Figueroa Boulevard, directly across from Crypto.com Arena, where witnesses reported chaos as vehicles performed donuts and blocked traffic. A large group, many dressed in hoodies, then stormed the lobby of Circa LA, overpowering security guards who attempted to prevent their entry.
During this altercation, one individual sustained a stab wound. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed that they are reviewing bystander and surveillance footage to identify those involved in the incident. Following the violence, the high-rise building was seen with boarded-up windows the next day.
Residents voiced their frustration over the recurring disturbances in the area. One neighbor remarked, “Two days ago, actually, they were doing donuts at 3 o’clock in the morning. Nobody called the cops. The cops don’t even show up.” Another witness noted, “Some of our neighbors, I guess, they threw stuff downstairs and pissed them off, and then they came over to fight the neighbors.”
As of now, no arrests have been made, and there has been no official statement from building management regarding the events. The investigation remains ongoing, with detectives analyzing extensive cell phone and surveillance footage to assist in identifying the individuals involved.
