USC May Head to SoFi Stadium for 2028 Football Season Due to Olympics
The University of Southern California (USC) football team is set to relocate its home games to SoFi Stadium for the 2028 season, marking the first time the Trojans will depart from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum since 1923.
This significant change is driven by the installation of a $100 million temporary track at the Coliseum for the 2028 Olympics, which will render the field unusable for USC’s season opener in September.
Should UCLA also make the move to SoFi Stadium, both prominent college football programs will share the venue with Los Angeles’s two NFL teams during the 2028 season. This will create a unique sports environment in the city, uniting major college and professional football under one roof.
