United Airlines Flight Makes Safe Return to LAX Due to Engine Concerns
Engine Fire Causes United Airlines Flight to Return to LAX
Firefighters swiftly responded to reports of an engine fire involving United Airlines Flight 2127, which returned safely to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) shortly after takeoff on Monday morning.
The flight, bound for Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, departed LAX just after 10 a.m. aboard a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Due to issues with the aircraft’s left engine, the flight made an emergency landing at approximately 11:20 a.m., where it was met by fire crews on the taxiway.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the aircraft returned without incident. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed, "LAFD crews have confirmed United flight #2127 has landed safely and is clear of all passengers and crew members following reported engine problems."
Fortunately, there were no immediate reports of injuries. All passengers safely exited the plane and were transferred to buses. However, departures from LAX were temporarily halted due to the emergency situation, though the duration of this interruption remains unclear.
Inquiries for further details have been made to United Airlines.
