U.S. Army Looks Into Apache Helicopter Flyover at Kid Rock’s Nashville Residence
U.S. Army Investigates Helicopter Maneuvers Near Kid Rock’s Home
The U.S. Army has initiated an investigation following a notable incident involving two AH-64 Apache attack helicopters that performed low-altitude maneuvers near the Nashville residence of musician Kid Rock on Saturday. This occurred simultaneously with countrywide No Kings protests against the Trump administration.
Kid Rock, a vocal Trump supporter, shared footage of the helicopters on his social media account, showcasing them hovering close to his expansive estate, which he refers to as the "Southern White House." In one clip, an Apache helicopter appeared to assume an attack position while Kid Rock, standing poolside, saluted in return.
“This is a level of respect that s— for brains Governor of California will never know,” he remarked, directing criticism toward California Governor Gavin Newsom. “God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her.”
The Army’s 101st Airborne Division confirmed on Monday that they are reviewing the incident. Maj. Jonathon Bless, the division’s public affairs officer, stated, “Army aviators must adhere to strict safety standards, professionalism and established flight regulations.” He indicated that an administrative review is underway to assess the mission and ensure compliance with both regulations and airspace requirements, promising appropriate action should violations be identified.
According to the Army, the helicopters were following a training route in the Nashville area, asserting that any link to the No Kings protest, which garnered significant attention nationwide, was purely coincidental. However, officers from the 101st Airborne acknowledged uncertainty regarding whether the flyby was incidental or deliberate, with Bless noting, “Our pilots do regularly fly routes outside the Fort Campbell area.”
The timing of this event attracted considerable scrutiny, especially as it coincided with the No Kings demonstrations, which included a substantial rally in downtown Nashville. Observers pointed out that military aircraft conducting maneuvers near a well-known Trump ally on such a politically charged day raised eyebrows and sparked extensive online discussion.
Kid Rock has consistently maintained a strong relationship with Trump, having appeared with him at the White House last year during the signing of an executive order aimed at combating ticket scalping in the live entertainment industry. Governor Newsom’s X account had previously mocked Kid Rock in February after a video surfaced of the singer working out shirtless alongside Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
